Memory Lane: Flight to CA for Christmas

Leah was difficult on our short flight from Maryland to Boston for Thanksgiving, so I had a lot of anxiety about how things would go on our much longer flight to CA.  But there were a couple differences with the longer flight and those made ALL the difference.  We were all able to sit together as a family (didn't happen on our flight to Boston) and even though Leah still qualified to be a lap child, we chose to get her her own seat (totally AMAZING difference).  We brought along a backpack full of small dollar presents for her to open along the way, and she made it through less than half of them all the way there.  The trip was relatively painless and even somewhat enjoyable (despite the child behind us that was screaming - literally, screaming - for about 3 of the 5.5 hours..I felt so bad for the parents)!
Leah didn't love wearing her seatbelt whenever the sign was lit, but didn't fight us too much on it.
I think one thing that helped us keep things under control was never giving her the option of setting foot on the floor.  We let her do anything she wanted as long as she stayed up on the seats.  And wasn't bothering anyone else :)

Listenin' to some tunes

The final hour of the flight:

We were overjoyed to finally make it to the Long Beach Airport (and even more happy to find ourselves in 70 degree weather!).  We were so excited to be in beautiful California for the next week!
