13 months

I never did an official "one year" post of Leah, so here's a 13 month one!  She is so much fun and a constant delight.  She says a handful of words, my favorites of which are "thank you" ("day-day", which she says every time we give her something or sometimes when she gives us something) and "hello" ("hi-ya").  "Uh-oh" is another frequently-said words, and she says it whenever she drops something, or when she picks up something she knows I don't want her to have (like the phone, the remote control, or the diaper wipes) - she'll hand it to me saying "uh-oh!".  She is always, always, always on the move and constantly busy getting into things, and I continue to enjoy watching her explore and discover new things.  Her current favorite toys are her push toy, her doll, and (my favorite!) her books.  She'll spend quite a long time pulling her books off the shelf and looking through them, "reading" out loud to herself as she peruses them. I need to get her pretend reading on video one of these days.  She also loves anything electronic and will fight pretty hard to get it.  Out of sight is not by any means out of mind for her.  She loves dancing to music and at church she waves her arm around in imitation of the chorister during the hymns (and sometimes she applauds at the end of the hymns - or any song).  She eats most anything we give her, but some of her favorite things are mac and cheese, broccoli, cucumbers, bananas, green beans and these rice crackers we give her.  The only thing we've seen her outright reject is tomatoes (though she's okay with tomato sauce).  We didn't really give her any sugar before her first birthday, but we've offered her ice cream, cake and cookies since.  She seems to like them okay, but she wasn't as excited about them as I thought she'd be.  She's been pulling herself up and cruising along furniture for a few months now, but has always been scared to venture off on her own without holding onto something. Sometimes she'd stand on her own without realizing it for awhile, but as soon as she saw she wasn't holding on to something, she'd kind of panic.  So we were very surprise when she suddenly started standing on her own last night...and she even took three steps!  Big milestone for little Leah!

Leah's current stats:
21 pounds, 29 inches
(50th percentile all around)

Standing on her own!
It helped that she was distracted by her necklace.
