Blessed to Receive...

General Conference weekend was a little different than most for us this year.  With a major professional exam hanging over our heads and 3 of the 4 of us being miserably under the weather (it went far beyond just coughs and sniffles), the weekend was a test in endurance.
Thank goodness Dave was healthy and took good care of all of us when he could.
Lots and lots of tears.

Lots of them.
And on top of the tears (which really never seemed to end that whole weekend), nobody was sleeping much either.  Dave and I were both awake with both children once or twice every hour.  Which is why it meant SO MUCH to us when, in the midst of our misery, we looked out our front window on Sunday to find this:
Our yard was FULL of Easter eggs!  The picture doesn't even do it justice...there were eggs EVERYWHERE.  We spent quite awhile picking them all up from all over our yard and found that in many of the eggs were hidden pieces of puzzle.

Even Leah forgot her misery...it was the happiest we saw her all weekend!

She loved gathering up all the eggs.

Starting to put together the puzzle...it had a fun message on the back from our anonymous givers

We learned just recently that the perpetrators were a few friends of ours in the ward...their timing was amazing and we really appreciated the thought and effort they put in to doing something fun for our family.  They couldn't have known that it would be such a bright spot during a very gloomy time!  We're grateful to have been the recipients of such kindness!

  1. What a sweet gift! Audrey is sick for the first time right now.. I just want to cuddle her all day to help her feel better! I can imagine this was a sweet moment to see Leah so excited and able to smile.
