Inappropriate?

Leah LOVES trying clothes on or placing bags, necklaces, or ANYTHING around her neck...but she doesn't always find the most appropriate items to wear...

Love? Most of the time....

Leah LOVES her little brother and often smothers him with her hugs and kisses - and most often she's pretty gentle about it...

During this particular cuddle session, Dave took away her pacifier to see if she'd give Dallin a few kisses.

Things seemed fine at first...

Then went downhill very quickly!

Dallin didn't like it too much :(
Mom and Dad stepped in before relationships were permanently damaged.

P.S. This whole pacifier thing has been a bit of a struggle for Leah.  Before Dallin came along, she only had a pacifier to sleep with, but now she sees him with one, and wants it.  She's always stealing it - and you know from the way she grabs it, sticks it in her mouth and takes off at light speed that she KNOWS she shouldn't be doing it! - and she's reacting more negatively than usual when we take it away.  We love our pacifier bandit.

(To Leah's credit, sometimes she'll generously offer it back to Dallin - though the offer is sometimes made to his nose or eye rather than his mouth)

2 Months

For the last week I've kept feeling like I need to take official "two month" pictures (whatever "official" is).  I finally gave up and decided to just use some random picture I took of him the day before he turned two months.

He's a big kiddo...such a sweetie, too.  We'll find out his stats on Thursday when he has his two month check-up, so I'll update you on him then!

Blessing Day Part 2

We were thankful to the friends and family who were able to share the day with us.
Leah's face when you tell her to "smile": she squints her eyes and gives a fake grin.
She loves pulling out hats and other clothes to put on her head

Poor kid...getting teased already

...and again.

The proud Dad...just chillin'

Ben and Bethany, Ann and Dan

Ann was Dallin's one visitor at the hospital (besides Leah!)

With Uncle Conrad and Aunt Jen...Leah LOVED all the attention her aunts and uncles gave her

Sunday afternoon walk:
Dallin rode with Frank in the carrier

Leah rode with Conrad in the backpack

Later that night Curt's girlfriend, Lori, made us an Argentinian dinner and Liz made a birthday cake so we could celebrate Dad Briggs' birthday

We spent our last evening together enjoying good food and watching Briggs family home videos.  It was crazy having so many people in our house, but it felt so empty after everyone left...we miss everyone!

Blessing Day

Dallin was given a name and a blessing on September 4.  He was the perfect picture of purity and innocence in his white blessing outfit and there was a wonderful feeling throughout the whole day.  We feel so grateful to be blessed with this beautiful little spirit in our family.

The men who stood in the blessing circle (except for Conrad)

Leah was much more interested in exploring than taking pictures

Not sure what to say about this one.

Labor Day Weekend Part 1: Annapolis

We were lucky enough to have most of Dave's family in town for Dallin's blessing and, while transportation got a little tricky and room in our home was limited, we really enjoyed the time we had with everyone.  It was kind of a shock to the system when they all left and it was just me taking care of Leah and Dallin all day again.  It's wonderful to have a few extra hands around!!!  But even more wonderful was simply having our family close by for a few days.

One of the destinations for the weekend: our favorite, Annapolis!
Leah is loving walking everywhere...most of the time we love it, though sometimes she gets a little stubborn about getting back in the stroller when it's time to get a move on.  She felt so important pushing Dallin in the stroller for a little while!

Taking a little break outside the old capitol building (Annapolis was the USA's first capital for about four months before  it was moved to Washington DC)

First time I saw Leah fall asleep in the stroller since she was about 3 months old!
We spent quite a bit of time exploring the Naval Academy campus

We can't keep her arms inside the straps these days.  We especially have to be careful when we buckle her in the car seat or she'll figure out a way to get her arms out of that, too.
Liz!

This was Dallin's second trip to Annapolis - he spent the first half of the day in the stroller, and the second half in the Lillebaby.  He did great!
Dave and Frank examining a unique sun dial on campus

Boy these babies are high maintenance!  Three men just to get them up a flight of stairs!

Liz did her best to try and get Leah to take a little nap on the way there.  You can tell she came very, very close.  Leah's a fighter, though!

Liz was nice enough to sit squished between the two car seats all the way there.  Leah loved having her aunt next to her!
